Our Truth
We do more than provide resources. We build relationships. We connect people with mentors who’ve walked this path and made it through. We surround them with support groups, recovery partners, and a network of people who see their worth, even when they can’t see it themselves.
Founded by those who’ve lived it and rooted in the community, we show up again and again—until everyone searching for hope has the chance to rebuild, grow, and thrive. Because recovery isn’t just about healing—it’s about reclaiming life. And here, no one has to do it alone.

The foundational scripture for our work is Luke 4:15-19.
He (Jesus) went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
.רוּחַ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, עָלָי--יַעַן מָשַׁח יְהוָה אֹתִי לְבַשֵּׂר עֲנָוִים, שְׁלָחַנִי לַחֲבֹשׁ לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי-לֵב, לִקְרֹא לִשְׁבוּיִם דְּרוֹר, וְלַאֲסוּרִים פְּקַח-קוֹחַ.
לִקְרֹא שְׁנַת-רָצוֹן לַיהוָה, וְיוֹם נָקָם לֵאלֹהֵינוּ, לְנַחֵם, כָּל-אֲבֵלִים.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to captives, recovery of sight to the blind, healing to the brokenhearted, freedom to those who are oppressed, downtrodden, bruised, crushed by tragedy, and to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”

The CBS Evening News Segment included clips of our Hope Gathering recovery meeting (above). You’ll notice folks with their hand in the air. This was in response to being asked the question: “How many of you have overdosed?”

The Hope Resource Center was featured on CBS Evening News. The story covered the impact of the life saving antidote Naloxone on the decline in opioid related overdose deaths*.

*While fatal opioid overdoses have declined overall, overdose deaths continue to increase among black males and among people who use stimulants such as crack cocaine and methamphetamines. There is much work to be done to carry a message of hope to the still sick and suffering.
